Capacity Building Initiative (CBI)
The Northwest Leadership Foundation (NLF) is accepting competitive applications for its Capacity Building Initiative. The initiative offers free training, technical assistance and small grants to help small community and faith based organizations increase their ability to serve the community more effectively. The application must be received by 5:00 p.m. March 11, 2010. Information session on the Capacity Building Initiative will be held on:
Tuesday, March 2nd from 9-11:30 a.m.
and
Monday, March 8th from 2-4:30p.m.
Both session will be held in the Event Room at the Northwest Leadership Foundation.
The mission of the Northwest Leadership Foundation is to encourage, develop, and strengthen leadership for the social and spiritual renewal of the city.
Organizations eligible to apply for this opportunity include: community and faith based organizations, groups, coalitions, and ministries (need not be a 501c3). Organizations must serve low income clients in Pierce and King Counties. More specifically, organizations that help low-income populations in the service area gain and/or retain employment, gain awareness of and improve access to federal and state benefits and tax credits are strongly encouraged to apply. Capacity building assistance is in the following areas: 1) organizational development; 2) program development; 3) collaboration and community engagement; 4) leadership development; and 5) evaluation of effectiveness.
