Get Involved
Thank you for visiting NLF’s new website. We are excited to not only share our work in the City, but are always interested and committed to garnering and leveraging additional support in our community. Below is a list of opportunities for individuals and/or organizations to engage in relationship with the Northwest Leadership Foundation.
  • Donor: donor opportunities include the standard giving to programs such as one-time gifts, annual gifts (monthly, quarterly, or semi-annual disbursements), capacity building gifts, and restricted gifts (endowment and programmatic).
  • Board Team: these teams will be made up of board and non-board members. These board support teams include individuals who have an expressed passion/gift for the focus of a particular team (i.e., student support, partnerships, etc.) and will support the work of the organization and make recommendation for current and future activities (community-based and programmatic). These teams will not have governance responsibilities, but will interface with the board of directions around annual goals/work plans. Board teams will meet at regular intervals to be determined by the team. Verbal and written updates will be provided to the board of directors.
  • Board Member – the members of the board of directors will have governance and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization. The areas of emphasis are financial management, evaluation of chief executive(s), and leadership development. The board of directors will meet at regular intervals according to an established calendar.
  • Volunteer – friends of the organization can volunteer in community based programming and/or events. Contact the staff of the program of interest to you.
  • Come and See Opportunities – these are planned opportunities and/or scheduled events that potential friends of the agency/funders/volunteers can participate in to get a sense of the work of the organization. Examples include neighborhood vision opportunities hosted by Ron Vignec and networking meeting (a component of the Capacity Building Initiative).
  • Trainings – NLF hosts various training opportunities whether theologically based (the Roundtable) or otherwise (the Communities Empowering Youth Initiative). Training schedules, eligibility requirements (if necessary), and purpose information is disseminated to the broader community upon request.
  • Intercession – opportunities for individuals and friends of the organization to pray for the city and the work of the organization include a board support team that prays regularly for NLF, weekly prayer with neighborhood/collaborating organizations, and a monthly potluck for fellowship.
